Coming Events

Come visit us!

We are open at the Keelboat Barn in Darden Towe Park Saturday, 10-4, and Sunday 12-4, weather permitting, through October. Admission $3 per person. Special arrangements made for groups. Please call 434-979-2425.

Visit our 55-ft. keelboat replica and learn the skills of an explorer. Children can earn a variety of badges: an apprentice boatbuilder's badge, the art badge; the Explorer's Badge. Mapmaking, drawing, knot-tying and building a dug-out canoe are some of the activities that take place at the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center.

Directions: To get to the Keelboat Barn, take the 250 bypass East over Free Bridge. Take a left onto 20 North. Watch for the Darden Towe Park sign to your left. Drive into Darden Towe Park, then take a right. Drive past the parking lot areas until you see the Keelboat Barn (rustic) directly ahead. Park in the parking lot or on the grass nearer the Keelboat barn.

The Keelboat Barn will be open rain or shine.
